Edinburgh Airport is to trial a new wildlife moitoring and database tool designed to help reduce the threat of bird strikes. Bird sightings are to be recorded on hand held computers and the information later relayed by wireless transmission to a main database for analysis.
System developers ClickAirport believe that the information learnt will allow the airport operators to discover wether they are applying appropriate dispersal or control meaasures.
