WILDLIFE CONTROL & AIRFIELD INSPECTIONS MODULES
London Heathrow Airport is working with ClickAirport to demonstrate compliance of key airside duties, improve productivity and develop a service measurement framework.
The world's busiest international airport, London Heathrow, is the latest airport to use the ClickAirport Airfield Inspections & Wildlife Control modules to improve airside operations service delivery. The system will initially ensure that the primary safety responsibilities of surface inspection and bird control are being discharged in line with policy, and increase the time spent by front line teams in the field rather than at base.
In looking to the future, Gordon Griffiths, Head of Airside Delivery at Heathrow, commented, "We are gearing up to meet the demands of Terminal 5 operations and ClickAirport will help us create the high performing teams of people we need to ensure we deliver a safe and efficient airport environment". David Townend, Managing Director of ClickAirport observes, "We look forward to helping Heathrow prove to itself, the regulator and the airside community that it is complying to safety standards and driving the operation towards greater effectiveness."
Deployed with a modular architecture and using web based reporting and management tools, the benefits at Heathrow can expand into new business areas and could be scaleable throughout all the 7 UK airports of BAA plc. Ian Witter, Group Airside Operations, BAA plc said, "There is a lot of interest in the project across the Group because of the potential benefits in efficiency and effectiveness of activity logging and provision of management information".
