Clickairport Introduces Operations Diary

Mon 10/01/2005

THE LOGICAL HEART OF OPERATIONS

ClickAirport has launched Version 3.0 of its powerful Activity Manager Suite to include a centralised Operations Diary that is designed to be the logical heart of the airport operation.

Airport teams can configure planned and one off events into a central diary and then view the historic log of activities against the actual duties delivered. With online access and scheduled notification of daily schedules to users via email, fax and PocketPCs, the broadcasts and ‘smartcasts' give the opportunity for a task-oriented approach to the day-to-day delivery of airport policies.

The power of the diary is released through, and complimented by, all of the modules available from ClickAirport. When used with the Airfield Inspection module, for example, the diary can be used to define regimes for checks of specific asset types like Aeronautical Ground Lighting and Navaids or as part of a Level 1, 2 and 3 Inspection Policy. Other modules can call upon the diary to provide all staff with access to anything from wildlife migration patterns and habitat cycles to local NOTAM's in effect.

One of the most exciting benefits is that the diary forms the basis of a systems approach to Operations Management with inputs and outputs. David Townend, Managing Director of ClickAirport says "historically, reporting of hazard trends at airports has not factored in the observation resources, so sometimes it's hard to know whether a trend is due to the underlying hazard or is a function of the observation activity or reporting itself."
